Landline featured the slaughter of some of the 600,000 feral camels roaming Australia's north, bought to Australia in 1850 to transport goods through the dry desart and aid in the building of our early rail system.
These animals have thrived in our dry and inhospitable climate.Could these animals not be a resource ?
The other part of the program showed the carcases of burnt cattle and sheep being buried in the south east parts of Australia and Kangaroo Island.Where farmers will have to struggle to buy replacement stock.
Would it not make sense to give these farmers camels to start the process, while waiting for rain to produce grass and save their slaughter ?
