Wittenberg

After two weeks exploring Berlin' s various old neighbourhoods it was time to head west and visit some regional cities . The first being Wittenberg ,DBahn providing fast transport from Sudkreuz saving the need to go to Haupthbahnhof , copy of the ticket attached.

After a short ride through flat grey soil country we pass fields of sunflowers,corn,stubble from a previous crop and contented cows chewing their cud . I arrived at Wittenberg station and was greeted by the coffee cycle

In the photo of the market square is a long timber dineing table with 100 chairs,when do they use this ? who eats here ? Is it only for celebrations ?

After coffee I took the bus to Thomas Muntzer strasse where my Air BnB accomadation was.I met Gunter who provided the key, and deposited my luggage.Now i could walk round the inner city streets and photo the church,the square and various buildings of interest.
My other idea to take a bus round the outer city streets failed as the drivers did not understand my objectives,of seeing all of the city. I did call at the jugendherberge to see if i still qualified to stay.Although no
one spoke english I gather that i could.

A most interesting histcoric city..
