UNter der Donner Berlin

                                Franz-Korner strasse

My accomodation is in an old house with three bedrooms , a cellar , new bathroom and kitchen with a small dinning area, located 100 meters from the Britsdamm Strasse and Penny's supermarket .
My twin bedroom is 5meters x 4 meters with two double glass casement windows facing the street,it's ok to open these, but I'm told not to open the side window facing the garden as rain may come in.
there is also an attic filled with mysteries !
Downstairs in the dinning area is a table4 chairs,a fridge, and a microwave .Adjacent is a small kitchen containing  four hot plates a stainless steel sink  a kettle , cupboards containing crockery and silverware .But no toaster.
In the bathroom is a shower cubical with sliding doors, a washing machine , but no bath.White glazed tiles 300 mm x 200 mm line the walls .New plumbing and electric systems have been installed.
Oil heaters are in the bedrooms, bathroom and dining areas.
Yesterday I used the washing machine unsuccessfully ,as the clothes came out with washing powder stuck to them, instead of dissolving and performing the function of cleaning the clothes. There is an outdoor clothes line which underwent a true test of Berlin's weather,in the morning they were still wet so we're hung in the cellar on a drying rack.

SEcurity is a high priority. , three keys are required , one to open the front gate, another to open the front door ,a third to open the bedroom. THis could be German charistic .
The Frau is helpful and diplomatic,as yet I haven't met Boris ,my fellow guest is Marcell an apprentice at Daimler who speaks perfect English, he is guiding me with the ways of the house.
This BnB accomodation at A$ 51 per night is satisfactory for my needs, two weeks In Berlin to study
Residential housing and culture .
The 44 bus runs up Britzdamm Strasse to Hermannstrasser SBahn train station, this the circular track that is above ground ,The mix of Ubahn and SBahn can be tricky to an amateur , overlay this with a light rail system and bus lines, without a map can be complex. So far I have been caught going the wrong way once.
The circle lines embrace the inner neighbourhoods, there are three enormous interconnecting stations,Westkreuz, Sudkreuz and Ostkreuz, they have glass walls and part glass roof and much traffic changes trains in these terminals.
There can be three levels of train track so to find the right train can be frustrating, much entschuldigen bitte and rely on the German public for assistance , which is generally available.
Not all officials are so helpful. At a recent attempt to buy a ticket to Wittenberg at a DBahn kiosk I received a rapid fire spray of Deutsch but no help. But at another station a DB trainee handled my enquires professionally and resulted in the ticket purchase .
Request to follow the right proceedure .
