Cheeky Coogee Fox

It seems a sly old fox has taken to loving life in beautiful Coogee.

The story begins last year whilst sunning at the ladies pool a friend left a banana by her shoe whilst she went In for a swim only to comeback and discover it gone.  Oh well I guess one of my pool pals was hungry so hope she enjoyed it was Yvonne’s thought.  However the next day a fox was discovered slinking slowly towards her banana yet again and ran off with it into the bushes, cheeky cheeky. I think Yvonne enjoys her banana at home these days!

Forward to last week and I am presuming the fox has made his home permanently in this lovely suburb as last Sunday evening he climbed up into the roof of the chicken house in my daughters backgarden, actually putting a hole in the roof and killing my Grandchildren Ava and Ollys 4 chickens.

Of course we were all devastated as the children loved them and brought them up from little chicks.  They used to love sitting on Ava’s knee on the tire swinging from the tree and were truely a huge part of their lives.  Every day they would love to check for fresh eggs and Ava always worried that they were not left out in their run at night and made sure they were put away. 🐓

Fortunately Mudgee the much loved rabbit survived the ordeal and is now sleeping inside at nights.  However I believe the next doors rabbit has gone missing, so could the sly fox have visited them as well?

On the news the day after the attack was the story and picture of a fox strolling along the Beach without a care in the world! It has also been spotted walking up Beach st.

I know Coogee has become a much sought after area to live, but  I hope the fox finds refuge back in the bush where it belongs!
