Dahlem

Dahlem is one of Berlin's upper crust residentials, sprinkled with culture and appeal, south west of the city bordering the Grunewald forest near the Harvel River. The botanical gardens allow one to connect with nature.Oneof the largest in Europe with 22,000 plants from around the world, giving a fine display of colour.

The massive Grosse tropenhaus greenhouse, the muggy home of an entire bamboo forest orchids, cacti and flesh eating plants

There is also the Free University founded in 1948 because of restrictions at Humbolt University.
A bus ride along the leafy streets of Dahlem on the way to Steglitz provided interesting architecture.
Took the S Bahn to Bundesplatz,on the circle line where a beggar and his dog came on the train,he made a speech and collected coins from the passengers. At Hermanstrasser I exited and took the bus down Britzdamm strasse to Penny supermarket to buy dinner, beer and groceries.
